Kayaking? What's that?

So the other day I was hanging out with my dad and some of his two-legger friends and they started talking about going kayaking. I was kind of bored since I had no idea what they were talking about. I just layed on my blanket and listened, until I heard my name mentioned. That got my attention. I thought I heard Dad say that I was going kayaking with them. Now I'm interested, especially since they said something about lunch being involved.

So before I knew it Dad was putting me into this long blue thing that he called a kayak and put me in the water. Have you ever tried standing up in something that was moving around in the water. Not easy, especially if you have short legs. Fortunately Dad had put my blanket under me so I just laid down, put my head on Dad's lap and decided to ride it out and see what happens.

After a bit I decided that this was kind of cool, so I got up and looked around to see where we were. Wow! Out in the middle of the bay. There's two other kayaks with Kim and Erin. I heard them say that Brooke and Riley had been with us but they had to go back. Kim keeps pointing that camera at me. Here Kim, how is this for a pose.

When we got out to where lunch was going to be, guess what Dad did? Did he feed me? No, he grabbed his camera and started taking pictures. Hey Dad, it's me Roxie - does the word lunch mean anything to you?

Finally we sit down on the blanket and have lunch. Actually, since I normally don't have lunch because I have to lose a little weight, all I got was a few little pieces of sandwich and a couple of pieces of cheese. Oh well, I had a really good time hanging with Dad and his friends

On the road again!

Oh boy, off to Morro Bay again. Going to see my buddies the smushy's, Betty, Stella and Gunther. Hope Dad takes me to the bark park - wait, Charlie might be there - oh well, I can deal with it! In the meantime, I need to get some rest to prepare, because I know there will be lot's of walking and running and rough housing.

So, Dad, when are you coming home. I can't wait to see you and go for a walk with you. Especially since Mom told me that I was going to Morro Bay with you next week. Hot diggety dog, that really gets my tail wagging. Mom said you bought me something, what is it? Huh....

Too tired to write

Holy dachsie, Dad really wore me out this weekend. Walking, running, all those dogs at Bark Park, driving around in Dad's car...... And then Dad insisted that I go for a 20 min walk today! OK, now I hope I will just be left alone to sleep. I think two-leggers count sheep to go to sleep, for me... 1 little puggie, two little puggies, three......

What a big day!

Oh man, today was Saturday. Hello! Saturdays are for sleeping in. What does Dad do, gets me up at 7:00 in the morning and says, I have an idea, let's go for a walk. OK, as long as I get breakfast first. So we went down to this place called Morro Rock. It was cold and Dad didn't put my sweater on. After a nice lady commented that I looked cold, we went back to the car and my dad put my sweater on. Aaaah, so much better. So in my new-found warmth we walked down the Embarcadero where all the fishing boats were. Much to my surprise, Wilson the Corgi was out running around by himself and decided to come up and say hi. After he checked me out and decided I was ok I found out that he lives on one of the fishing boats and his Dad just lets him wander around on his own! He never goes very far and everybody around there likes him. I kinda liked him too, he was mellow.
OK, so from mellow Wilson we get to Bark Park and out of control hyper Charlie. I hadn't been there 60 seconds and he had me on my back. He wasn't hurting me, he was just trying to play, but he was so freaking big and strong. So I just ignored him and eventually he went on to play with the other dogs that appreciated his attention. Probably I could learn to like him, but holy dachsie he was strong.

Now, I decided I needed to prove something to Dad. When I went to the doctor yesterday he told me I needed to lose 2 lbs. Now you might not think that is much, but that is 17% of my entire 12 lbs! Dad doesn't think I get enough exercise because I don't run. Well watch this, daddy-o, what do you know, I can run. It was kind of fun actually.

Of course my running is nothing compared to my friend Stella - now that girl can run. She was keeping up with Gunther and Betty and Lucy and Buster. Whew, just watching her made me want to go and take a nap.

So into the car, snuggle into my blanket and nap all the way home - at which point it was out of the car, a quick pee then onto the couch and a different blanket and I am out.

Dad takes me to Morro Bay

So I crawled out from under the covers on Thursday morning only to hear my Dad say that he was taking me to work with him. Huh? I don't work. I eat and sleep, doesn't he know that? Well the plan was that I would drive around with him all day and then go to Morro Bay. He said I was going to spend some time with Gunther and Betty and Stella and maybe some other dogs. Oh great, I'm a people person, I'm not one to spend a lot of time with - dogs!
After driving around all day looking at tree's (that's what Dad does for a living, go figure) we stopped down by the ocean to see the Channel Islands.

So we finally got to where the smushy faces live. At first I was kinda worried because this bulldog named Betty started barking at me for no good reason. I didn't bark back, I just stayed close to Dad and pretty soon she stopped barking and settled for just following me around.Gunther the pug was a lot mellower and even allowed me to pose for a picture with him

Then there were these pink things. Dad called them flamingo's. He said they weren't alive but I don't know, they looked kinda scary. I let Dad take a picture, then I was outa there.
I didn't get to get a picture taken with Stella yet. She is this black pug that seems to sleep a lot. Dad says we are going to someplace called Bark Park with her tomorrow, so maybe I can get a picture took with her. I did lay down on her bed for a while, but the sun was too bright and I couldn't keep my eyes open
After hanging out with my new friends for a while, we went to Petco. Dad wanted to get me a new walking harness. I din't think my pink one was so bad, but he said it was too feminine. Hey, I'm a girl, what's wrong with feminine?
Maybe tomorrow Dad will put on a picture with my new harness. If you want to leave me a message, just click on the little thingy below that says Comments.
